25 Minute Timer

25 minutes is the work block of the Pomodoro Technique: focus on one task until the timer rings, then take a 5-minute break and start again.

What a 25 Minute timer is good for

  • A Pomodoro: one task, no email, no phone, until the alarm.
  • Writing sprints, where you keep typing and save the editing for later.
  • Exam revision split into rounds you can count.

Press Start and the countdown runs for exactly 25 minutes. It shows in the tab title too, so you can work in another tab and still see the time left. When it reaches zero, a gentle alarm plays and the dial flashes until you stop it.

Other timer lengths

Counting down to a day, not a few minutes? Use the countdown timer. To measure how long something took, the stopwatch is the better fit, and the time duration calculator works out the time between two clock times.

Frequently asked questions

How many seconds are in a 25 Minute timer?

1,500 seconds. The 25 Minute timer counts them down from 25:00 and plays an alarm at zero.

Will the 25 Minute timer ring if I switch tabs?

Yes. The timer works from the moment it should end, not from ticks, and the alarm is scheduled on the browser's audio clock, which keeps running in background tabs. Keep the sound on and the tab open.

Can I change the 25 Minute timer to a different length?

Yes. The hours, minutes and seconds fields and the presets work as usual. This page only starts at 25 minutes; every other length is one tap away, or open one of the timers linked below.
