Using the tools
Calculations, images and texts you put into a tool are processed by your own browser. They are not transmitted to our server. If you copy a share link, your inputs become part of that link, and only you decide where to send it.
Stored on your device
To show “Your tools”, we save the tools you starred and recently used in your browser’s local storage. We also store your cookie choice and which ideas you voted for. This data never leaves your device and is strictly necessary for the features you use (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
Hosting and delivery
The site is hosted in Germany by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, and delivered through the content delivery network of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which also protects it from attacks. When you open a page, your IP address, the page requested, date and time, the referring page and your browser type are processed to deliver the page and keep it secure. The hosting provider keeps this data in server logs for a short period and then deletes it. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure and fast website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Both providers act as our processors under data processing agreements. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; its edge servers in the EU serve visitors from Europe.
Forms
When you suggest a tool, vote on an idea or send an advertising request, we store what you enter together with the date and an anonymous, regularly changing hash of your connection. We use the hash only to block spam and double votes, and it cannot be traced back to you. Advertising requests include the name and email address you provide so we can answer you; we keep them until the request is handled and for as long as a booking lasts. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for advertising requests and our legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) for ideas and votes.
Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
On the pages with forms (suggest a tool, voting and advertising requests) we use Cloudflare Turnstile from Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, to tell people from bots. When you submit a form, Turnstile checks technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address and browser characteristics, and usually needs no action from you. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the forms free of spam (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR); storing or reading information on your device for this is strictly necessary for the service you request (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Usage statistics without cookies
To see which tools are used, we count page views and tool uses ourselves, without cookies and without storing or reading anything on your device. When a page loads, your browser sends us the page address (without query parameters) and the domain of the site you came from. When you first use a tool on a page, it also sends that the tool was used. We never receive what you type or upload.
To count how many different visitors we have per day, our server forms a shortened hash from your IP address, your browser identifier and a value that changes every day. The list of these hashes is deleted at the end of each day, so visits cannot be linked across days. We keep only daily totals per page, tool and referring domain; your IP address is not stored. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we do not count your visit. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing which tools are useful and in planning the site (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). You can object at any time by emailing us or by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Google Analytics (only with your consent)
If you click “Allow” in our consent banner, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It helps us see which tools are used and where people get stuck. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga, stored for up to two years) and processes usage data such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and your shortened IP address. Google processes this data on our behalf as our processor; reports are kept for 14 months.
We send page addresses without their query parameters, so values you typed into a tool and that appear in a share link are not transmitted. What you type or upload into a tool is never sent to Google.
Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can withdraw your consent at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; we then stop loading Google Analytics and delete its cookies.
Ads
We currently show no third-party ads. If we add them, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. To exercise these rights, email hello@freebiefy.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
Changes
We update this policy when the site changes, for example when a new service is added. The date at the top shows the current version.
